Directly from Guča, where they took the 3rd Prize for the song “Erdelezi”, Zuralia Orchestra came to Niš. The audience of Nišville Jazz Festival will have a chanse to listen their sounds of gipsy jazz mixed with the reggae, disco, and many other types of music, on Wednesday in the River Stage and Thursday  in the Earth Stage. The leader of Romanian  “Zuralia Orchestra”, Aurel Mirea, told us about  their impressions of  Nišville and Serbia in general.
NV: First of all, congratulations for the 3rd Prize on Guča Trumpet Festival! Can you describe me your impressions  about the festival?
Aurel: Thank you! We know that is the biggest Balcan festival, and we are very happy that we received the invitation for it, and we are happy that we had a chanse to participate. Also we are very happy and proud because we took the 3rd Prize for the song “Erdelezi”.
NV: It was your first time to visit Guča, and did you like the audience there?
Aurel: Yes, it was our first time to come to Guča, the reaction of the people was really amazing for us, we didn’t expect them to react like that, so positive reaction!  And we are very happy because of that. We like people from Serbia because they are very nice, very kind and open minded. But in the same time it was not so big surprise, because we played with Goran Bregović in Bucharest where  we were invited to open his concert.
NV: In general, your music is inspired by the music of Goran Bregović. It is well known that you perform his song “Gas gas”, but have you ever performed it together with him?
Aurel: We didn’t play with Goran Bregović, but if he wants it, we can play any time with him. We brought something new at this kind of Balcan music. Our music is mix of  rege, latino, disco, gipsy, Romanian traditional music, and also gipsy music from other countries.
NV: Was it difficult to sing his song “Mesečina” in Serbian? Will you perform it tonight?
Aurel: I think it was not so difficult, pronounciation of our language is almost the same like pronounciation of  Serbian language. We will sing it today in Serbian, but no matter whether the language is different or not, the music is allways the same.
NV: Are we going to hear your Eurovission song tonight?
Aurel: No, not tonight, but maybe tomorrow.
NV: By the way, you have very interesting clothes for the scene. What was the idea for these creations?
Aurel: These dresses was made by the famous Romanian designer, we called her and explainded her what kind of music we play, and she made them to look just like that.
NV: You are also for the first time in Niš, taking part in our International Jazz Festival. How do you like our city?
Aurel: We like the city, and we like the people here very much, and we want to make a big show tonight and tomorrow. Here we feel like we are home because Serbian people are very similar to Romanian people, they are very open, and we feel like members of the same familly.
NV: Would you like to send a special message to your tonight’s audience?
Aurel: We will send them message directly tonight, at the same time when we transmit them our energy, good feelings, and they will have a great time for sure!
